Mango – Volunteer Spotlight!
Mango has been a dedicated volunteer at the Knoxville Habitat for Humanity ReStore since February of 2018. After hearing about volunteer opportunities at the ReStore from her school, Mango knew that this would be the perfect opportunity for her to earn community service hours while meeting new people and giving to a worthy cause.
She has learned many new skills during her time at the ReStore. She suggests that this would be a “good opportunity to volunteer” for anyone looking to build their people skills. She loves the “really happy environment” of the ReStore, saying that there is “never a dull day … I love how all the people there are.” What makes Mango such an extraordinarily valued member of the ReStore team is her dedication to the mission despite her busy schedule. She finds time to volunteer between being a full-time high school student and working her part-time job. When she has a day off from work, she will volunteer at the ReStore after school until closing. Volunteering is an important and meaningful part of her life. She enjoys giving back to her community and “seeing people smile.”
