Resilience, optimism, and gratitude. I see these three amazing qualities in every Knoxville Habitat partner family. The resilience to overcome challenges most of us will never face. The optimism to believe in a better life, despite incredible challenges. And deep, sincere gratitude for caring neighbors like you who support their hard work to create a safe and affordable home for their children.
Make your financial gift now, and you’ll give 55 hardworking Knoxville families reason for hope.
You’ll help them complete their journey to a home of their own. It’s a journey that started 30 years ago for Natalia who was secretly raised Christian, even baptized in the middle of the night, and eventually fled the religious intolerance of Eastern Europe’s communist bloc.
Local churches sponsored the family’s entry to the U.S., but Natalia and her husband, Marcel, were soon on their own, both working to support their large family.
There are 54 more families just like Natalia’s who are at or near completion of the sweat equity required to build and buy their Habitat home. They have helped others build their homes; they have built or repaired their credit; they have attended weekly budget classes and managed to put aside savings.
They are resilient, optimistic, and grateful, and all they need is your support.
Together, we make Knoxville a safer, stronger, better community. Please make your gift today, so that Natalia and others like her can build a better future, for themselves and for all of us.
In gratitude for your past efforts and optimism for your continuing partnership,
Kelle R. Shultz
President & CEO
