Habitat families still need you.
Knoxville Habitat supporters like you can take comfort in knowing over 700 hardworking families in Knox County are weathering this pandemic in a safe, decent and affordable home. But there are countless others who are desperate for a secure home.
This pandemic has raised awareness like never before of the extreme challenges some of our neighbors face each and every day. The fact is, there is not enough affordable housing in Knoxville to house every family that desperately needs it. Here and across Tennessee, there are more than twice as many families in desperate need of homes than there are housing options they can afford. Together, we can provide hardworking Knoxville families relief from crippling housing costs and help them build a more secure and stable future.
Now and every day, your gifts to Knoxville Habitat have a direct impact in our fight to provide safe and decent housing to our hardest-working neighbors. Neighbors like Teresa, a proud grandmother who has never been able to afford a mortgage despite her long, stable work history. With your help, she will be able to leave an aging rental with high utility bills and constant repair needs to build and buy her own home. Parents like Tasha, a single mom who cannot qualify for a conventional mortgage on her salary as an experienced shift manager in food service. She came to Knoxville Habitat for the chance to purchase a home she can afford, in a neighborhood where her daughter can safely leave the yard to ride her bike.
Supply line interruptions and other effects of the coronavirus have had a tremendous impact on our build schedule and on waiting families already struggling to make ends meet. Your gift today will help us move forward as soon as we can safely gather again … With Teresa, with Tasha and with others that have worked so hard to build and buy a home that will lead to improved health, better education opportunities and the safety and peace that comes with affordable homeownership.
In gratitude for your support,
